One of the most common questions I get asked is about the tool I use for Papercutting. I discovered this knife not long into my papercutting journey whilst shopping in John Lewis for a new knife. I’d always used a normal fiskars knife throughout my college course, and then my university course. Which I picked up on that occasion, but I also picked up one of these bad boys and I’ve never looked back. This is my 3rd knife if this design and honestly I would struggle to use a ‘normal’ knife now.
The fiskars fingertip control knife is perfect if you want to cut detailed intricate designs (in my opinion) it does exactly what it says on the tin, it gives you a fantastic level of control as your index finger goes through the loop design, so is very similar to holding a pencil.
Have a shop around for the knife if you fancy giving it a try, it seems to vary a lot in price.
I also had a wonderful dovecraft version of the knife from trusty wilkos (oh how I miss that shop) it had a lovely padded grip. Suitable for both right handed and left handed use. It states in the description that it is compatible with no11 blades, but my heart will always lie with my trusty swan Morton 15a blades.
I’ll link some places below which currently have stock, Amazon seems to be out currently.
let me know if you give it a go 😊
These are standard grip knives…
However, my personal preference would be the soft grip version
